At Bayside Family Dental Care, we believe using leading-edge dental technology allows us to provide more precise and comfortable care to our patients. Our state-of-the-art dental clinic has CBCT and OPG scanning, two-dimensional panoramic radiographs, and more.
We are one of the only dental clinics in the area with 3-D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Our CBCT scans produce 3-D dental x-rays of the teeth and jaws, enabling us to view the exact shape of the bone and assess a patient's candidacy for specific procedures, like dental implants.
We make sure each treatment is designed to meet your unique oral health needs, smile goals, comfort level, and budget. Your satisfaction and heath are of the utmost importance to us, and we continuously strive to keep you and your loved ones smiling.

OPG X-Rays
An orthopantomogram (OPG) is a panoramic scanning dental x-ray that captures a two-dimensional view of the upper and lower jaw, including teeth, jaws and temporomandibular joints. Unlike periapical or bite-wing x-rays, an OPG x-ray captures a wide-view of the mouth in a single image. The OPG increases our vision of the upper and lower jaws, allowing us to prescribe treatment accurately.
An OPG x-ray can reveal dental concerns, such as:
- Cysts in the jaw bones
- Jaw tumours
- Oral cancer
- Advanced periodontal disease
- Impacted teeth and wisdom teeth
- Jaw disorders
- Sinusitis

Digital X-Rays
At Bayside Family Dental Care, we use digital x-rays to minimise radiation exposure and produce higher-quality images. Digital x-rays allow us to alter each image's size, contrast, or magnification, making it easier for the patient to follow along as we diagnose conditions like decay or gum disease.
The dentist can zoom in or out, rotate or enlarge images to show each patient why we recommend a specific treatment and how it can resolve their issue. Over time, the digital x-rays become part of the patient’s ongoing record so the dentist can easily refer to it as needed.

Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, also called ‘happy gas’, is an odourless, colourless gas we use for safe and effective sedation and pain relief. A patient inhales the gas mixed with oxygen through a small mask that fits over the nose. At Bayside Family Dental Care, we use nitrous oxide to help patients have a more relaxing and pain-free experience.

3-D Cone Beam Scans
At Bayside Family Dental Care, we use 3-D cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Cone beam imaging produces high-quality, 3-D dental x-ray images of the entire mouth, including soft tissue, teeth, bone structure and nerve pathways, which are necessary for treatments like dental implants. The 3-D images are available for instant analysis when used with advanced imaging processing software.
Some of the benefits of CBCT include:
- Safe and easy to use
- Extremely high level of accuracy
- Advanced imaging for high-resolution results
- Low-dose radiation
- Less impact on the environment

Rotary Endodontics
If you need root canal therapy, rotary endodontics may be your new best friend. Rotary endodontic technology ensures the root canal treatment is more efficient and comfortable.
This technology doesn’t require manually cleaning root canals. Instead, it uses a flexible nickel-titanium head to reach deeply into the canal to ensure every trace of infection is gently removed. Rotary endodontics also eliminates uncomfortable sensations often associated with manually-performed root canal treatment.

Intraoral Cameras
Intraoral cameras help us detect dental problems and educate our patients about their oral health. Using an intraoral camera, we can see highly-detailed and magnified views of the entire mouth, including teeth and gums.
The patient has a front-row seat at their dental exam because they can see the same images the dentist sees in real-time on the chairside monitor. As the patient and dentist view the photos together, we can show the patient any concerns, such as a cavity or gum disease, and how it’s affecting their oral health.
All intraoral images are securely stored in digital patient records, and they’re always available for review by the dentist, specialists or insurance companies.

Digital Records
Bayside Family Dental Care digitally stores patients’ oral health information and diagnostic results in our secure database. We use digital records to track each patient’s progress and use it for comparison with future examinations and treatments.

AIRFLOW® Therapy
Our state-of-the-art dental clinic uses AIRFLOW Therapy for air polishing procedures. This technology uses pressurised air, water and processed powders to clean all surfaces of the teeth and remove plaque, stains and food particles. AIRFLOW Therapy is gentle and often beneficial for many patients who have sensitive teeth.
